Frick, Wilhelm
1877–1946
   Frick was a senior civil servant and Nazi. He was Minister of the Interior in HITLER’s first Cabinet and was responsible for putting into effect measures to extend the Nazi Party’s control of the state. As Chief of Police he came into conflict with HIMMLER who wished to control the security forces of the regime and Frick was forced to give Himmler responsibility for law and order. Frick’s influence dwindled but he retained his post until 1943 when he became Reichs Protector of Bohemia and Moravia but he had very little power and FRANK, his Deputy, was the real ruler. Frick was found guilty of crimes against humanity at Nuremberg and was executed in October 1946.
